Ann Strong of Heart

Hear this story child of a woman in far gone times

Wandering the earth she saw many places
Highrises reminded her of mountains
Highways, thick as forests
Traffic, sad imitation of the wind

“Come back, come back” dreams whispered
Mother`s voice touched her troubled mind
Then she went where the real people live
to find her heart already waiting

Proud people, suffering in silence
as the lands of all were abused and misused
wise words of the elder ignored by those
who did not know nor love the land

One voice, the silence broke, soft spoken
Mr. Tucker whose golden heart
wisely guided him to ask that they be heard
and She of his people did hear

Two voices intertwined, a rose in winter,
to those still silent
Across the snowlands and riverice
the power of real people returned

Hear this story child and remember

UPDATE 10th of September 2009: In a twist of fate it is now Ann who is struggling, after she helped so many last winter. Many friends have come together and are offering their help. One way is to donate to the Strongheart fund here:
